For 2020, our organization incurred more than $1 million in unplanned expenses due to COVID-19, much of which was covered under funding received as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. • We ended the year with 479 days of cash on hand. Cass Regional is one of themost financially- strong critical access hospitals in the state. We will be leveraging this cash on hand to reduce debt (for example, wemade an additional principal payment in 2020), expand commitments made to capital budgets for 2021 and beyond, and provide financing for planned expansion projects in 2021. • We invested nearly $2.5 million in facilities, and new and replacement equipment. • We donated more than $6,500 to worthy causes throughout the communities we serve. • We provided more than $938,000 in charity care. • We returned money that we received under the Payroll Protection Act to the government. *unaudited figures Balance Sheet (consolidatedwith Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation and CassMedical Center Improvement Corporation) 2018 2019 2020* Assets $127,539,263 $134,898,010 $145,448,183 Liabilities $ 41,399,322 $ 41,169,229 $ 52,306,450 Fund balance $ 86,139,941 $ 93,728,781 $ 93,141,733 2020 Community Benefit
