Cass Regional Medical Center | Wellness Matters | Spring 2021

Wellness Matters | Spring 2021 3 With sincere gratitude Staff and volunteers have gone the extra mile to end the pandemic Since the pandemic began a year ago, our staff and volunteers, as well as employees from the Cass County Health Department and nursing students fromCass Career Center, have stepped up in a big way to help end the pandemic. In collaboration with the health department, we started offering drive-up testing clinics on the Cass Regional campus once a week beginning in July 2020. Braving the elements— from heat and cold to wind and rain or snow— our nurses have tested more than 2,000 area residents for COVID-19. In January 2021, we launched our first of many public COVID-19 vaccination clinics. The clinics presented several logistical challenges, from staffing to vaccine availability, but thanks to the ingenuity of our nursing administration staff and volunteers—and help from the practical nursing students at Cass Career Center—we have vaccinated thousands so far. We are grateful for the long hours these individuals have put in, and the sacrifices they’ve made, to help end the COVID-19 pandemic!
