6 cassregional.org | 816-380-3474 celebrates years 2010 Added PET-CT (positron emission tomography/ computed tomography), which is a medical imaging test that is used primarily in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, but is also used by cardiologists and neurologists in the diagnosis and treatment of certain cardiac and neurological conditions. Began offering transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), used to diagnose certain heart conditions. Acquired our first telemedicine robot through funds donated to Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation. The robot was first used in the time-critical diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. Purchased a pediatric patient simulator manikin to enhance ongoing staff training in the treatment of pediatric patients. The funds for the manikin were donated by attendees at Cass Regional Foundation’s “Boots &Bar-B-Que” fundraising dinner and auction. 2013 Invested in a new telemetry (cardiac monitoring) system for our cardiac rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation departments. The $80,000 system was funded in part by a bequest fromWill Ella Deacon. Named the third “Most Beautiful Hospital” in the country by Soliant Health. Celebrated 50 years as Cass County’s hospital. Purchased an adult patient simulator manikin to enhance ongoing staff training with funds donated at the “Under the Big Top” fundraising dinner and auction. 2014 Designated as a Level III Trauma Center, serving a six-county area in western Missouri. Implemented a new hospital- based electronic medical record system to improve the delivery and coordination of care. Opened Rock Haven Specialty Clinic and The Wound Center in Rock Haven Medical Mall. Established Cass Regional Orthopedics, the practice of orthopedic surgeon Ken Petersen, DO. 2011 Celebrated the opening of Phase I of the privately owned Rock HavenMedical Mall on the Cass Regional campus, allowing for expanded neurology, pulmonary medicine, cardiology and gynecology clinics and the addition of chiropractic and dialysis services. Added a 64-slice CT scanner. Launched the IMPACT™ (Immediate Post- Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) program in several Cass County high schools. Began offering the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program in our emergency department.
