Why are they feeling it? What can or can’t they do and why? What are their expectations? And what can I do about it? If I can answer these questions well enough, it helps create a good plan for what we need to do in regard to therapy.” A whole new side MacLeod has a strong interest in concussion management in athletes, as well as sports medicine. “I have always been on the athlete’s side of sports medicine, especially with my shoulder injuries,” he said. “Being able to be on the other side and helping athletes return to their sport, like I had help, is one way I want to give back.” Being part of the team that helped him recover from his surgery years ago has given him a whole new perspective. “When I was in rehab they were always nice, but I only saw them maybe an hour or two a week. Now, I get to spend all day with them for five days a week, and they are the exact same people,” MacLeod said. “They are sincere individuals, and it feels like working with a family that has opened their arms and home to you. I feel so honored to be working at not only a really nice facility but with a great group of people.” Full circle —Continued from front page 2800 E.
